2022 Sauvignon Blanc Sunninghill
At 800 feet of elevation, our single-acre Sunninghill block lies the eastern end of the ranch, just as it drops away to Lake Hennessey, with Pritchard Hill rising from the opposite bank. The block has the shallowest, sandiest, thinnest soils of all our vineyards. The resulting wines have developed a reputation for their cut, length, and mineral texture. Winemaker Dianna Seysses makes the wine primarily for the family, meaning the way we like it – an unapologetic, classic, Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit was picked by hand on August 27, 2022, pressed straight to neutral oak and stainless steel barrels, barrel fermented to dryness by wild, native yeasts, aged on the lees for six months in neutral oak and stainless steel barrels (without malolactic fermentation), 100% Sauvignon Blanc, bottled in May, 2023, 1,848 bottles produced, closed with Saranex-lined screw caps to ensure maximum freshness..
