Snowden Vineyards

The Snowden Ranch & Vineyards

The Snowden Ranch is located in the hills on the east side of the Napa Valley between the towns of Rutherford and St. Helena.  Originally carved out of the wilderness of California as a federally granted homestead in 1878, the property is exactly 160 acres -- a quarter of a mile high and a mile wide.  The Lower and Los Ricos Vineyards are located at the west end of the property adjacent to the Heitz Ranch at about 600 feet of elevation.  From the Lower Vineyard, the view looks out over tiny Spring Valley and then across the central Napa Valley, centered along Zinfandel Lane. Moving east and up from the Lower and Los Ricos Vineyards, the property flattens out at the top of the hill, where it reaches 850 feet of elevation and The Brothers Vineyard and The Blending Blocks are located.  The Lost Orchard Vineyard is located at the east end of the property, just before it drops off into Conn Valley.  A total of 23 acres are planted to vineyards.  The rest of the property is wild woodland.
