2019 Sauvignon Blanc "Sunninghill"
From our single acre of Sauvignon Blanc - a free-thinking and exuberant group of grapevines in the middle of our idyllic eastern-most "Lost Orchard" vineyard area, on a bluff bordering Lake Hennessey, with Pritchard Hill on the far shore. Winemaker Diana Seysses speaks of the wine's "creamy texture" balanced by a "citrusy acidity." Whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented with wild native yeasts in stainless steel and used oak barrels, no malolactic fermentation, aged sure lies. We make this wine for ourselves, exactly the way we like it, and are pleased to share what we don't drink ourselves. The preceding vintage of this wine was the only California Sauvignon Blanc to be awarded a gold medal at this year's French Concours Mondial du Sauvignon Blanc. 100% Sauvignon Blanc; 158 cases made; closed with Saranex-lined screw caps.
