Snowden Vineyards

2021 Sauvignon Blanc Sunninghill

Our Sauvignon Blanc comes from a free-thinking and exuberant group of grapevines in the middle of our idyllic eastern-most "Lost Orchard" vineyard area, on a bluff bordering Lake Hennessey, with Pritchard Hill on the far shore. Winemaker Diana Seysses lets wild native yeasts ferment the wine in neutral oak and stainless steel barrels.  There's no no malolactic fermentation and the wine ages on the lees until it's settled and bottled in the spring.  She makes this wine for the family, exactly the way we like it, but we're pleased to share. 100% Sauvignon Blanc; 91 cases made; closed with Saranex-lined screw caps.

Winemaker Notes
The 2021 vintage gave us a short crop but a lovely wine from our single acre of Sauvignon Blanc. Balanced and elegant, the nose hints of bees wax and apricot, white flowers and freshly cut grass. The wine is polished and long on the palate, showing the block’s signature balance between subtle florals and an underlying minerality.
