2019 Rosé of Merlot "Lost Vineyard"

From our two acre "Lost Vineyard" block, the '19 Merlot rosé is fruit-forward, expressive and lively.  We picked early in the harvest, fermented with natural, wild yeasts, and held the wine in stainless steel until it was bottled, unblended and unfiltered, in April, 2020. A total of 888 bottles were produced.  They are closed with Saranex-lined screw caps to ensure maximum freshness.

Winemaker Notes
We were so pleased with the Provençal-style rosé we made from the '18 vintage, we returned to our two acre "Lost Vineyard" block for the 2019. Like our Sauvignon Blanc, this is a wine we make for our family and friends - so it is made exactly how we prefer it. Not a saignée wine, we like rosé to be expressive and lively, so we bring in the fruit well before our reds, immediately drain the juice off the skins, ferment with natural, wild yeasts, and hold the wine in stainless steel until bottling. 100% Merlot, we produced just 888 bottles. Try it on a warm evening with grilled fish or a light seafood pasta.
