2016 Cabernet Sauvignon "The Ranch"

The 2016 "Ranch" is produced from Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the Lower Vineyard -- our western-most block -- and the Lost Orchard Vineyard -- our eastern-most block.  The '16 is a dramatic example of the richness and nuance of the vintage.  Winemaker Diana Seysses says "the 2016 wines have an ease about them, with exquisite, floral and higher toned aromas born out of this unrushed vintage."  Critic Antoino Galloni calls the '16 Ranch "... gorgeous ... dark, powerful and beautifully structured ... a wine of real gravitas and character ... deeply flavorful, classicly built ... a superb wine for the money." (Vinous, 2018)

Wine Profile
Winemaker Notes
2016 was a knock-out vintage for our Ranch blend. We blended the Cabernet from our western-most Lower Vineyard and our eastern-most Lost Orchard Vineyard with Merlot and Petit Verdot to create this wine, which is a summary of the property. The Merlot ensures its approachability, but 2016 gave the wine an unusual richness and flair. It can be enjoyed immediately (and often) but will continue to evolve for several more years.
