Grown in a one acre block at 800 feet of elevation within a stone's throw of the Brothers Vineyard, Cabernet Franc was for many years the key blending component of our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Lightly blended with Merlot, this unique release brings lovely, patrician aromas to the glass. Our move to vineyard designated Cabernet Sauvignon wines allows this stunning and distinctive wine to step forward as a stand-alone bottling. We bottled less than three barrels of this wine from the 2013 vintage. Our Cabernet Franc block is named after Melchior Kemper, who purchased the ranch from Levi Philander Davis in 1881 for $2,350 in gold coin. 98% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot; 61 cases made.
